Beef in Horseradish Sauce

This simple tasty dish is perfect for a cold winter evening for the whole family. Serve with cheesy mash potato and fresh winter vegetables.





INGREDIENTS



  • 1.8kg Stewing Steak - Cliffe Bank Beef

  • 450g chopped onions

  • 2 tsp ground ginger

  • 75g plain flour

  • 4 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tbsp curry powder

  • 1 tbsp dark muscovado sugar

  • 900ml beef stock

  • 4 tbsp horseradish sauce

  • Fresh chopped parsley to garnish


METHOD



  1. Gently heat the meat in a very large heatproof casserole dish until fat runs freely.

  2. Add onions, curry powder, ginger, sugar and flour and cook for 1 minute.

  3. Stir in beef stock, Worcestershire sauce and season.

  4. Cover and simmer gently for 2 hours until tender

  5. When ready for serve, stir in horseradish sauce and turn into a warm serving dish.

  6. Garnish with fresh parsley.
